Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1


  • Pick a segment: Demographics of international people at any age living in Gainesville, Florida, having the need for international restaurants close to home. 
  • Interviews: 
    • Interview 1: My first interview was with a student at the University of Florida from Brazil. It was just as I expected, he has the need that every other international people have. He said that it is really hard for him to adapt to the food, especially when he has to drive far away just to eat. 
    • Interview 2: I interviewed another student at the University of Florida from China. He also said that it was really hard for him to adapt to the food, even though Gainesville has Chinese food, he said that it is not the same, it is not as good. 
    • Interviewed 3: I interviewed just someone at Walmart, she is from the United States. She did not realize that Gainesville had that many international people living there, and she also did not realize that Gainesville does not have much international food. She does not have the same need, but she had a friend once from another country, and she said that her friend always complained about American food. 
  • Conclusion: From my interviews, I realized that the business can be better than I thought because even though some people are not aware or do not have the same need, they would still support because they have friends and family that have those needs. As long as it is a similar food from their country, I think that would be a great opportunity for business.

  1. Hi Emanuely, your idea of opening up a Brazilian restaurant in Gainesville is a great idea as I have many friends who love Brazilian food and would eat there all the time. Your interviews also point out that not many people realize how diverse Gainesville is. This is very true as Gainesville has an extremely diverse makeup of people in the city.
