Reading Reflection No. 1

The Wright Brothers, David McCullough
1) You read about an entrepreneur:
  • What surprised you the most?
They were never married.  
  • What about the entrepreneur did you most admire?
I most admired them how their obsession started when their father gave them like a helicopter toy. 
  • What about the entrepreneur did you least admire?
They flew together only one time
  • Did the entrepreneur encounter adversity and failure? If so, what did they do about it?
Some of the airplanes flew only one time. They kept going, that never stopped them from trying harder. 
2) What competencies did you notice that the entrepreneur exhibited? 
Work together, trying to be as good as possible. Never give up even when things did not work out the way that they wanted. 
3) Identify at least one part of the reading that was confusing to you.
Nothing was really confusing to me. I just do not understand why they never married, but that is something personal, so it is not something that they would write in the book. 
4) If you were able to ask two questions to the entrepreneur, what would you ask? Why?
I would ask if it was hard to work together, just because sometimes it is hard to work with family. And if they could change something, what would that be. 
5) For fun: what do you think the entrepreneur's opinion was of hard work? Do you share that opinion?
I think that enjoy what you do and never give up. I do share that opinion, I think that is the main things in life.

    Hey Emanuely,
    I really liked how the wright brothers never gave up on their dream even though they faced so much hardship. I also never knew that their obsession started by their father giving them a toy helicopter. I also do think its really interesting that they never married but maybe they were just too busy working on their planes to settle down.

Reading Reflection No. 3

What was the general theme or argument of the book?  Daniel Kahneman's "Thinking, Quick and Slow"  The general point around this book is that you have in mind two mechanisms that continuously battle for decision power.  How did the book, in your opinion, connect with and enhance what you are learning in ENT 3003? This book helped me more financially when learning about the two main mechanisms that conflict with my decision making.  If you had to design an exercise for this class, based on the book you read, what would that exercise involve? The exercise would have many problems that students would have to solve thinking fast. What was your biggest surprise or aha moment when reading the book? In other words, what did you learn that differed most from your expectations? Just learning to not overthink too much.

An unmet need that I found was the lack of international food in Gainesville, Florida. Gainesville is a college town where a lot of international people come to study or even just to leave there, but unfortunately, Gainesville does not provide them with food from their country. Gainesville also does not have anywhere where they can buy food to cook. There is not a specific type of customer. The customers will be from all over the world, so I cannot imagine only one type. What I have in common with the customers is that I am from another country and I live in Gainesville, I have the same need.
