Halfway Reflection

Image
1)  Tenaciousness is a competency.  What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course? The behaviors that I have used to keep up with the requirements of this course are time management and organization. I think that is the main behavior to be successful in this course.   2)  Tenaciousness is also about attitude.  Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this? I think that what pulled me through was thinking about the end, giving up would not make things easier, it would just make things harder for me, especially in the future. I think just having that mindset will help you to push through whatever is going on.  3)  Three tips.  What are three tips you would offer next semester's student about (1) fosterin...

Reading Reflection No. 1

The Wright Brothers , David McCullough 1) You read about an entrepreneur: What surprised you the most? They were never married.   What about the entrepreneur did you most admire? I most admired them how their obsession started when their father gave them like a helicopter toy.  What about the entrepreneur did you  least  admire? They flew together only one time Did the entrepreneur encounter adversity and failure? If so, what did they do about it? Some of the airplanes flew only one time. They kept going, that never stopped them from trying harder.  2) What competencies did you notice that the entrepreneur exhibited?  Work together, trying to be as good as possible. Never give up even when things did not work out the way that they wanted.  3) Identify at least one part of the reading that was confusing to you. Nothing was really confusing to me. I just do not understand why they never married, but that is something personal,...

Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1

Pick a segment: Demographics of international people at any age living in Gainesville, Florida, having the need for international restaurants close to home.  Interviews:  Interview 1: My first interview was with a student at the University of Florida from Brazil. It was just as I expected, he has the need that every other international people have. He said that it is really hard for him to adapt to the food, especially when he has to drive far away just to eat.  Interview 2: I interviewed another student at the University of Florida from China. He also said that it was really hard for him to adapt to the food, even though Gainesville has Chinese food, he said that it is not the same, it is not as good.  Interviewed 3: I interviewed just someone at Walmart, she is from the United States. She did not realize that Gainesville had that many international people living there, and she also did not realize that Gainesville does not have much international food. She d...

Idea Napkin No. 1

Me: I am a sports management major. Personally, I am really good at time management. I always played sports, since I was 5 years old, so from a young age, I had to learn how to manage my time effectively so I could finish everything on time. So if I were to start a business right now, I would know and would work however many hours I needed to be done with the work.  What are you offering to customers: I am offering international restaurants with food from all over the world in Gainesville Florida. It will be like a food hall, a street with only international restaurants.  Who are you offering it to: I am offering to everyone who likes international food. I think that will be mostly international people who live in Gainesville Florida, but anyone who likes it can come and eat.  Why do they care: I know for my own experience how hard it is to adapt with new food, and Gainesville has many international people living there. Some people cannot even adapt to food and have ...

Testing the Hypothesis, Part 2

Opportunity: lack of international food in Gainesville, FL. There are a lot of international people living in Gainesville, but still, it is really hard to find food from another country.  Interviews Lucas, University of Florida: He said that he did not know about the need, he is from America, so he does not really eat international food.  Andrew, University of Florida: He said that he does like some international food, but he does not have the need to eat it, so he does not have a problem with it. He also does not think that it is important to have international food here.  Joseph, University of Florida: He has the same need, but he has a car, so every time that he wants to eat different food, he drives wherever they have it. Chris, University of Florida: He said that he also did not realize that there are not many international restaurants in Gainesville, FL. He does not eat international food because his favorite food is burgers, so he does not have the same nee...

Solving The Problem

The opportunity would provide many business opportunities for entrepreneurs. I realized that there are more people with the need, so that would be a good opportunity for opening a business in Gainesville. My opportunity involves opening Brazilian restaurants in Gainesville Florida. There are many Brazilian people living in Gainesville, and that would satisfy them. The good thing about this idea is that it is not only for Brazilian people that live in Gainesville, but it is also for all people that like Brazilian food. I think that it is a great opportunity for business. I could talk to some people that have the same need and with that will bring more people together to help to open the business.

Testing the Hypothesis

The opportunity that I'm pursuing is the problem of the lack of international restaurants in Gainesville in Florida. The who: Brazilian people in Gainesville, people who likes Brazilian food. The what: Not being able to eat Brazilian food. The why: No convenient Brazilian restaurant located near Gainesville. Testing the who: I think that not only Brazilian people in Gainesville have the need, but also everyone that likes Brazilian food. Testing the what: Finding a way to open Brazilian restaurants in Gainesville. Testing the why: Driving to other cities to be able to eat Brazilian food. Interview 1: I interviewed someone from Brazil that lives in Gainesville, and she said that she has the same problem. Her opinion is that it is crazy that there is no Brazilian restaurant in Gainesville with the number of Brazilian living here. It is a need that she experiences regularly because she just came to the United States and she is trying to adapt to American food. Interview 2:...

Identifying Opportunities in Economic & Regulatory Trends

Opportunity 1: Climate Change is Causing More Natural Disasters https://www.thebalance.com/top-usa-future-economic-trends-3305666 The food prices are rising as the weather becomes hot. Climate change can create random storms and flooding. When those disasters happen, there is a big loss for the economy in the country. There are some places in the country that has more losses than others. A good example is Florida. In the past year, there were many hurricanes in Florida. Farmers lose a lot of money when this type of disaster happens, and that is a big loss in the economy. I form the belief from experience. I have many friends that are worried about it, so I hear about it a lot and have to do stuff to try to change it. Opportunity 2: Baby Boomers Aren't Retiring https://www.thebalance.com/top-usa-future-economic-trends-3305666 People are being forced to retire late because of the recession. People today want to find jobs or study something that will give them a lot of mon...
