Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2
Interviews: I interviewed three students from UF.
Begin with alternative evaluation: according to these students, the main factor would be the location of the restaurant. All three students do not have a car or have someone that would drive to another city only to eat international food. Also, cost is an important factor. Most of them will not spend a lot of money just to eat international food, they would prefer to buy food and cook it if the restaurant is too expensive. The quality of food also matters. That is a thing that matters to everyone, no one likes to pay to eat something that is not good.
How/where do they buy: They are most likely to go to the restaurant to eat it. International restaurants usually do not deliver, so the only way to eat is by going to the place.
Post-purchase evaluation: The thing that matters the most for these students is if the purchase was worth it. They do not care if they pay a little too much, what matters was if the money that they spent was really worth it.
Report your findings: All the students had the same opinion about international restaurants. They all had the same thoughts about what really mattered.
Conclusion: People will buy the food no matter the cost, but the quality and location of the restaurants need to be convenient and worth it. They will not regret paying money in a thing that they really liked.

Hi Emanuely,
ReplyDeleteI really liked your post. In a business such as a restaurant it is completely understandable to account other factors than just the taste of the food. Someone like me who does not have access to a car would not go anywhere far from my apartment to eat. You must know your customer to make a wise decision.
